A TRAUMATIC ADVENTURE FOR JAMES AND JENNY Thursday, August 24, 2006  really good to hear that James and Jenny are ok after having to run away from the fires in greece. here's the story James told me:when they first realised the fires were heading toward their hotel, they packed all their stuff, scribbled the thompson emergency number on a scrap of paper before leaving the hotel. people were standing around hoping the fires would not come any further but the heat was so intense that james suggested that they all head down to the beach otherwise they may die! looking at the 30 foot flames on the way towards them, 6 of them decided to walk along the beach in the direction they could see clear sky and after a few miles they ended up at another hotel. unfortunately because of the wind, the fire was spreading very fast towards this hotel now but the stupid manager was in denial telling people there was nothing to worry about. the people were angry and were grabbing their kids and stuff, throwing their keys at the manger and leaving. people without cars were stuck there and when the fires got really close and the heat and smoke were coming into the hotel the mangager finally took everyone down to the beach. thankfully the wind from the sea stopped the fires from coming right down to the shoreline otherwise they would have had to go into the sea (it was also the middle of the night). they kinda fell asleep and woke in the morning covered in ash. there were fire engines pushing the flames back from the hotel when they went back up and they managed to get through to the thompson number. a rep turned up later on and got them a coach out later that day and they flew out in the evening on a plane full of people who they'd found. apparently there were hundreds still unaccounted for. check out the bbc here. it really sucks. James and Jenny and the baby (Jenny's pregnant) are all fine and home safe. posted by Ant | 9:37 AM | V FESTIVAL Tuesday, August 22, 2006 woodsy and i had a wicked time at v festival. we saw lots of music and drank lots of beer and ate lots of food and got wet. praise the lord for wellies!

V. DAMP, WET & MUDDY Friday, August 18, 2006 I'm off to v festival with my pal andy woods. it's gonna be FAB but it's gonna be horribly wet - see below! I've done my hair specially (thanks to han span for getting this to look sooo good!).
