well, Mr. James D Clifford is 1 today. congratulations our kid!
JD!

got lots of family coming up over the week - we've got a busy house! it's gonna be sweet :)

i realise that stories on blogs are great so i thought i'd tell you guys about the cat that came in over xmas. this thing was a BEAST. a massive great big fat ginger cat that was easily as big as both our cats combined (they're still officially kittens bless 'em).

my dad saw Ernice (this is what i'll call him for ease of story-telling) running out of the house on xmas day and alerted us. we just thought it was a freak occurance so left it and went away down south on boxing day. i got a call a couple of days later from Nick (Parker - house mate extraordinaire) informing me that our house had been commandeered by Ernice! He has taken over Dill and Scout's food and space and was roaming the corridors throughout the night mewling like a banshee. Nick had hardly slept a wink but whenever he had tried to creep up on Ernice, he's scarper!

Anyhew, after a little chat with me, we had a plan. the next morning Nick, in a daring moment, set a trap using a cat-carrying-cage and the cat flap and managed to catch Ernice! Nick proceeded to scare the willies into him before locking him in the cellar in the cage with a box and a few heavy things on top to stop him from escaping. He then went to work and left Ernice to think about what he'd been up to for the last few days. We got back that afternoon, got him out of the cellar and put him in the hallway. I encouraged Dill and Scout to check him out in this 'caged' state so that they knew this was their territory and not his. They were peaking out at him and then running away like a couple of wusses.

We had considered all the options; taking him into the peaks and leaving him (apparently this would have killed him), getting out the golf clubs, etc but these all seemed too cruel even though this was an invasion of our house and big tom cats get into houses and kill kittens. so this is what we did... a little while later, Nick got home and we took Ernice outside and i urinated on him. he didn't like it. i didn't like it. but then again, i didn't like it that he'd probably been spraying my furniture with his urine anyway. we then doused him with a bucket of cold water and set him free. the last thing i remember of Ernice is him literally bouncing across the lawn at high speed and jumping up onto the wall at the back of the garden. i remember seeing him in the garden months ago - i'd chase him off but he's always turn round and stare back when he was a safe distance away with that "i'm coming back, i OWN you" look on his face. this time he didn't turn round...

i feel so bored of blogging! and caroline hasn't written anything for ages so i don't want all the flak! sorry you've had to stare at the stupid card for yonks (and yes, it is narnia-themed - i rubbed out lucy).

i guess there is news... got a new roomie: Tasha - this is going great. also, got another Nick moving in at the end of the month - it's gonna be MENTAL!

anyhew, i'm trying to get a new mobile phone but the date keeps on getting put back on delivery or stock to vodafone and it's driving me crazy. it's really testing my patience. i'm sure i'll be worth it though. i don't want to cop out and get some crappier model like other people do. check it out.

big news is that woodsie, cliff and i are gonna be forming a business together - this is dead exciting coz it'll be run with kingdom values. if you want to know more, ask me coz i'm not writing it down (i'd take ages)!

see you later.
