I'd just like to say that I'm really really proud of my parents (especially my Dad) for winning Uncle Matt's bloggin war. WE CAME FIRST! YAY!!!

okay well i've just had a chat with young john lovell and he's set me straight. the danger of coming to conclusions like the one below (3 posts back) is that you don't know all the facts. well now i do:

mikey b is going to be teaching us about mission. the young adult and student celebrations currently have no mal calladine to fire 'em up so mike's gonna do it. there's no other motive than to get us all united as once church to get out there so God can do his work!

now that's cool and has no negative undertones :)

okay well matt didn't see the big post coz his browser pulled the site from his cache so this command is going into my template to avoid such incidents: meta http-equiv="Pragma" content="no-cache"

oh and apologies to matt for the abuse ;)

i'm fed up with mr matt parkins and his sodding leaderboard. that last post was more than i've written in one go since university. it's much more than andy and bea have written today and i'm gutted coz he obviously reckons they are writing more. i pour my heart out and it gets thrown back at me - what a scum!

last night was a fascinating time @ sofa. i was going to put the logo up to show y'all but i can't seem to find it on my hard drive. darn.

well we were talking about vision and dreams and stuff i because i figure everything out extravertly, i seems that i want to be a punk-rock star and that all the web and multimedia design work is merely a means to an end. i reckon that pridot is really going to help down the line somewhere but first we'll need to get a drummer sorted. this bloke ric has had a listen to a demo cd and liked it. not sure if it'll work with him but i reckon it's heading towards a jam together to see if it will.

sorry... back to the point: this church is the coolest i've been in so far (get it... so-fa(r) - hahahahaaa!!) and i get the feeling that main church is getting the young adult celebration together more often. if this happens and we spend loads of time together as a celebration then yes, the worship and teaching would be cool and God'll turn up big stylee but from a community perspective it could be 'polite conversation' - y'know, "how are you?" with people that you only know a bit. our small community is really working and i hope that we're not going to be spreading ourselves thin if we don't get to hang out as much. please pray and let me know if you have insight!

also on the growth point, what i really want to see is the kingdom growing not people swapping around church groups.

rant over (for now)

moosh and i watched a couple of horror films last night - it was cewl! i always wonder whether i should or not coz everyone else i know in this community won't go near them with a barge pole. i decided to gague the 'spiritual' side and if it was dodgy, then i was willing to stop watching. well ghost ship was fantastic (and not scary at all) but demon island was utterly ridiculous and a real effort to watch: nearly everyone got killed in the same way and that made up the film *yawn*.

i'm hoping to make this more of a regular occasion with young marshall so if you fancy joining in... beware!!! hahahahaahahahahaaaa *evil laugh*

my old man (sorry dad) is going under the knife today so spare a prayer (hey, that rhymed!) - he's got a hernia and has been waiting months for this operation and it's finally here. he's spent these last few months with half a tennis ball on a belt sticking into his side so i'm sure he's dying (hopefully not literally!) to get rid of that. as far as i know you feel really rough after this operation so he's gonna need prayer...

oh and i love this pic - it's 3 generations of clifford boys! thanks to joe for that one.

Miaow..... Will here.

Don't see why everyone but me should be able to blog.

I am the cat. I am the proud owner of ant, caroline and (recently) ben clifford.

Until a few months ago, my life was great. Eat when I want, drink when I want, go out when I want, sleep when I want, and everything provided for me.... you get the picture. Then, along comes this thing, a bit like a kitten but without a tail, and suddenly noone really notices me. No, I'm no longer the cute member of the clifford household. They even go and give my godfather to him.

The worst thing is, this little boy-kitten keeps grabbing me, and grabbing me anywhere he chooses. That means no part of me is safe; my paws, my tail, my nose, all the extremely precious and tender cat areas. Well anyway, I got my own back the other day; he just pushed me too far. I was sitting there, minding my own business when he comes up to me and starts pushing and poking and pulling; so I thought "I'm not having this, I've got my dignity to think of" so I scratched him, just like that, three times. The little thing went quiet for a moment and then howled his head off. I mean, what kind of behaviour is that. You don't get our young kitttens making that kind of a caterwauling. Caroline was pretty mad with me, but hey, what's a cat to do. After all, I do own this joint, can't let them get away with that sort of thing.

Over and out. Until the next time
The coolest member of the clifford household.

Miaow.
ps. Oh, and I demand for a pic of me to be put up in the top bar.

HA! i'm cheating as i have the know-how: blogger's down at the moment which sucks but hey, it's free so who cares!

there are a few things to note today... abigail has a new bass - yay! i can't wait to play it myself :)

we really want to get higher on matt's blogging table of links by posting so much that no one has a chance to catch up - heheheee *evil laugh* so this post should help our chances. we'll see...

you know, links are much easier to create in dreamweaver than using the blog temple!

well i must get on - laters

Flippin heck, had to take up the challenge didn't I? Moi. I am a technological wizard (or something like that!). So anyway, I'm back bloggin, although this'll probably be the only time for the next 3 months. I was explaining to Ant why I struggled doing it and it's because I see it as another THING TO DO rather than being a relaxation thing, and because I have so many other things to do, when I get free time all I want to do is read. Right, that's my excuses out of the way, better get on with telling you guys about what's going on.

Well, today's been a good day. Last week wasn't great cos Ben changed his routine so that he was having a long sleep in the morning which meant that I couldn't go to any groups (I know, probably doesn't sound like that much of a crisis to you peeps) and so the morning would go very quickly but then at 12pm I'd be like "flip, 7 hours to go until he goes to bed, what on earth am I going to do?!". So anyway, I'm now playing with Ben's routine so that he only has 10 mins in the morning and then a humungoid sleep in the afternoon. And this means that I can go to groups, I just have to take him for a walk for 10 mins half way through so he can sleep. Hurrah. The groups are quite weird. Today was good but I would really appreciate prayer for them. It's just that I only see these women once, maybe twice, a week and I have to talk to them: 1. because if I didn't I'd seem a bit weird and rude, 2. I do like talking to adults occasionally, 3. I want God to use me in that place, but it's hard cos all you have in common is the fact you have a kid and most of them are a bit older than me, and I'm not particularly good at making small talk and am a bit liable to go in at the personal level and ask them if they were bullied when they were at school (or something like that). So I guess prayer that I'll find it easy and have things to talk about and that I'll build good relationships.

Ummmm, what else? Oh yes, we've found a childminder. It was something I'd been praying about cos I want the best for Ben (no surprise there) and although I don't have a problem with nurseries, I just think that 11 months is quite young for Ben to start and cos it's only 1 day a week he might not settle and also cos he's the kind of child who would probably benefit from 1:1 for as long as possible. All the people we'd thought of (Gnomes, Rach, Han) hadn't been able to do it, and I couldn't think of anyone else but someone suggested I ask Kate Cooper, so I did but she suggested her housemate Laura (Paul K-S's girlfriend) and I went to meet her and she was lovely and incredibly gifted with babies (a bit like Dan and Jason actually) and she said she'd accept £30 a day so that's our childminder found. She's going back to uni in September so it's only for 6 months, but that means Ben'll be 18 months when he goes to nursery which I feel happier about, and I trust that if it isn't right then God'll provide another childminder.

I've had a bit of a revelation about praying recently. It was all cos of Jen AndrewS. At cluster she said something about simply ASKING God for the thing you want and I suddenly realised that I hadn't been asking in a simple, childlike way, but that I'd been asking almost as though I didn't honestly think God would answer me, so I began to ask the Holy Spirit for the gift of faith and then prayed and I did feel different; more positive I guess. Sounds really nothingy in a way but it 's made a big difference to me and my prayers are being answered e.g. about the childminder, about the group this morning.

I'm trying to think if there's anything else. Don't think so. Just to say "well done" to Abigail for getting her essay done, and to say how amazing it is to have Rach back from Switerland ("Switzerland, how come you got to go there Rach?!"), and how amazing my SOFA leaders are, and that I like it that all feels well with the world.

Love you guys x

well what a cool weekend. after an excellent whiskey evening with my old pal hodge (maaan - nasty headache all night coz of it tho. (at least i still get to have whiskey drinking evenings - the 'whiskey club' i belonged to either isn't happening any more of the can't be bothered to invite me to anything they do *hmph*)) and a superb time with my lovely wife on saturday - ooooo... we're in lurve! (oh, and ben's not throwing up any more either so praise God for that!) then we had loads of people dropping round today starting with rach for a smashing roast, then jen, si wilkins, si and jake oliver and cathers - it was cooooool!

i've rearranged my links to other people's blogs in alphabetical order to avoid anyone reading anything into it unlike mr matt parkins who has just arranged his into the order of which blogs have the most regular posts. i'm glad to say that i'm second! (i say 'i'm second' because it looks like caroline doesn't want to blog at all any more - it was just a passing phase with technology - gutted! sorry all you caroline fans out there!)

what a funny old world.

well after an embarrassing couple of days having had my hair dyed a certain 'blue colour' and people kindly telling me that i looked like their granny with her 'blue rinse' style (see post below) i decided to buy a more vibrant blue - well here it is! i reckon it's worked well and now bea's hair cut is finally complemented with the right colour.

caroline's gonna kill me though (no not because of the hair...) because the dye's stained our lovely new painted tiles in the shower - *pants*. at least she's not going to wake up thinking she's been sleeping next to a grey haired man for the night - *he he he*

oh no!!! we haven't got a babysitter for this friday when we go over to andy and bea's (sorry andy and bea...) so if anyone fancies a cosy night in with britney spears dance beat and a dance mat then please let us know! mail us :) (update: many thanks to young stephen for helping us out by babysittng - very quick answer to prayer! may the Lord bless you immensely ;)

if you're wondering why we have britney spears dance beat then the reason is because we're going to use it to get fit - it's basically aerobics! knackering jumping about on a large directional pad's just gotta be more fun then going for a run - also it's something we can do together without leaving the house and needing a babysitter - fantastic!

i'm sooooooo chuffed that finally wheat are playing in england! i love this band; after having discovered them a coulple of years back, i've been waiting for them to get their act together with their 3rd album. it was leaked to a few people (like jimmy eat world who put them at no.5 in their top albums of 2002) but i never got hold of a copy :-( it was never released because nude records (of suede fame) went bust. the new album will be out very soon on aware records - the gig's in birmingham so andy hodge and i are travelling down on the 4th feb to see them - crazy! if you're up for it then email me, okay? cool!

we had a brilliant time away with rach and others. we also realised that we haven't seen each other properly for ages and need some catch up time. shame that we're busy 3 nights in a row isn't it.

other news is that i've bought another domain called the thing about it which is gonna be our community's notice board - lets see if an online community can actually work this time coz they usually flop disastrously! it uses blogger to easily add a post so maybe it'll work. if you want the ability to post messages then just email me and i'll consider it ;)
